On Sleater-Kinney reunion: "Not ruling it out, but not anytime soon"

In a recent interview with Pitchfork, Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein discussed the possibility of a reunion for the critically acclaimed band whose final album The Woods appeared on a number of Punknews.org Lists for 2005:
Yeah, I don't think we're ruling it out. But it's not going to be any time soon. We probably wouldn't use the word "reunion" [laughs]. We would say that the hiatus is off. It's just semantics, but yeah [laughs]. "Reunion" is a scary word. There's some horrible connotations in the word "reunion" [laughs]. It involves a lot of, like, face makeup, and everyone commenting about how much older we look. It's precarious: the longer you wait, I think it gets worse.
In Memoriam: Brian Thixton of Les Turds (1971-2008)

Brian "Turd" Thixton of Les Turds has been killed in New Orleans. The band wrote about the incident in their blog:
I find out Brian Turd has been shot dead in the streets of New Orleans. I don't know so much how to take all this right now. I'm definitely angry at whoever shot him. I don't know the details but I do know that if you bring a gun to a fist fight then you are lower than cowardly. If it was a mugging then they are big piece as ass shit. You can look at Brian and just know you won't get more than 20 bucks and his life, any life, is so much more valuable than that.
I remember the first time I met Brian I was 16. He pulled up to my dad's house in a old big ass truck that would later come to be know the "Motel Dodge." He had Cannibal Corpse cranked and was sporting one hell of a mullet. He quoted the lines most would find most disturbing but he found most entertaining and would let out his patented Beavis and Butthead-ish laugh.
New Orleans has had "crime" cameras in the area for some time, but the cameras were damaged in the storm and so no information on what happened is currently available.
Our deepest condolences to his friends and family.

According to a bulletin from Descendents on their current status, drummer and producer Bill Stevenson is working on the next full length from NOFX. The bulletin doesn't give too much in the way of details but NOFX has been touring extensively in the past few years since the release of 2006's Wolves in Wolves’ Clothing. Stevenson was also behind the boards for that album.
Other plans for 2009 include US shows in January and February and a UK tour for next spring.

We were thrilled when we heard our friend Mitch Clem would be publishing his first comic book, compiling much of his beloved Nothing Nice to Say material in a Dark Horse-issued trade paperback. So after reading through the book, we decided to get Mitch to tell us a little about his art, his process, Dillinger Four and a few other things.
